This is a very helpful interactive utility that calculates the ideal placement of the mandrel nose. It also generates the ideal mandrel nose diameter for your specific application. This set-up tool should be used in conjunction with the “Forward Mandrel, Low Pressure” set-up technique outlined in our “Rotary Draw Tube Bending Guide”.
Please note that this nose placement calculation will work for all BTI mandrel systems. Not all mandrel systems are designed to by used in this manner. Take caution when implementing the suggested nose placement for any non-BTI mandrels because not all mandrel systems have the same range of flex as BTI mandrels, especially between the nose and first ball. BTI is not responsible for any damage caused by improper use of this utility.
